Alexa Massad Powers is an attorney licensed in both Connecticut and Rhode Island. She is a graduate of the University of Connecticut where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Alexa attended Quinnipiac University School of Law as a Dean’s Fellow where she graduated #1 in her class and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Quinnipiac Law Review.

Prior to joining Messier Massad Burdick & Assoc. LLC, Alexa served as a Judicial Clerk for Justice Andrew J. McDonald on the Connecticut Supreme Court after serving a term as a law student extern for Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer of the Federal District Court for the District of Connecticut. Alexa is the published author of Title IX – Where is It Now and Where Should It Go? Analysis of Existing Policy on Campus Sexual Harassment and Recommendations for Modification. Alexa presently serves as the Title IX Judicial Board Chair at Mitchell College in New London and recently served on the Town of Waterford Ethics Commission. She currently serves as a board member for The ECHO Cancer Foundation and The Blue Door Foundation, Inc. Alexa handles personal injury and insurance and land use litigation, estate planning and probate litigation matters.

In her free time, Alexa enjoys spending time outdoors, scuba diving, skiing, and playing tennis and golf. Alexa recently received a Red Cross National Lifesaving Award for an act in the local community. Her favorite part of the legal profession is the opportunity to assist and connect with individuals in their time of need.
